Zirconium plates and sheets consist of over 99.2% zirconium and natural hafnium traces (up to 4.5%). Contaminations like oxygen, carbon, nitrogen, and iron are tightly controlled for maximum performance. Zirconium possesses excellent mechanical strength with tensile strength from 330–580 MPa, yield strength from 200–400 MPa, and elongation of 14–40% based on grade and heat treatment. These plates and sheets are extremely ductile, heat-resistant, and have a very low cross-section for neutron absorption and are thus essential in nuclear technology, chemical processing, and other newer areas of engineering.
