Waspalloy is a nickel-based superalloy with high performance, consisting mostly of 50–60% nickel, with the major alloying components being chromium (19–22%), cobalt (12–15%), molybdenum (3–5%), and tungsten (2.5–3.5%). It has very good mechanical strength, a high creep resistance, and exceptional oxidation and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. Waspalloy has excellent fatigue resistance and thermal stability and performs well under conditions up to 1200°C (2200°F). The alloy also holds great durability and long-term reliability and, therefore, is best suited for high-temperature and high-stress applications in which conventional alloys do not function effectively.
