Titanium Grade 5 Tubing, or Ti-6Al-4V, is made up of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. The alloy has superior mechanical properties, with tensile strength of up to 965 MPa (140 ksi), yield strength of approximately 895 MPa (130 ksi), and good fatigue strength. With its very high strength-to-weight ratio, Titanium Grade 5 tubing exhibits performance at elevated temperatures and possesses excellent corrosion resistance in aggressive conditions. Its superior weldability, strength, and low weight (4.43 g/cm³) make it the most common titanium alloy used in engineering applications requiring high criticality.
