Titanium flanges are made from high-performance titanium alloys, generally Grade 2 (99.2% titanium with minute quantities of iron and oxygen) and Grade 5 (90% titanium, 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium). Grade 2 has good corrosion resistance and ductility, whereas Grade 5 has good strength for heavy-duty applications. Physical properties encompass tensile strength up to 895 MPa (Grade 5), yield strength of 828 MPa, and a density of approximately 4.5 g/cm³.
