Titanium Grade 5 Coil or Ti-6Al-4V contains about 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. The alloy offers a great balance of toughness, strength, and corrosion resistance while being light in weight. The alloy offers a tensile strength of about 895 MPa and possesses excellent hardness and fatigue properties, which makes it well suited for high-stress and high-pressure applications. Titanium Grade 5 also resists extremely high and low temperatures and oxidation, and yet remains biocompatible, making it ready for aerospace, naval, chemical, and medical applications demanding reliability and extended service life.
