Inconel 601 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy containing additions of aluminum to improve its corrosion and oxidation resistance at high temperatures. The alloy generally has 58–63% nickel, 21–25% chromium, and a maximum of 1.7% aluminum. Inconel 601 bolts provide tensile strength in the vicinity of 600 MPa and yield strength in the range of 275 MPa. The bolts retain their mechanical properties to 1200°C temperature and are resistant to scaling, carburization, and sulfidation. They are well suited for use in continuous or cycling thermal exposure and chemically corrosive atmospheres.
