A286 Foil is an iron-nickel-chromium-based superalloy that is widely acknowledged to have fine high-temperature strength, good corrosion resistance, and excellent fabricating features. It is normally composed of approximately 15% chromium, 25% nickel, and trace amounts of vanadium, molybdenum, and titanium for hardening by precipitation. The alloy possesses high tensile strength and creep resistance up to 700°C with excellent oxidation and fatigue resistance. The mechanical properties are excellent yield strength, high elongation, and excellent toughness. A286 Foil retains its shape at both high and low temperatures and is therefore a good option for thermally stressed critical parts.
