Monel K500 Wire contains mostly nickel (approximately 63%) and copper (27–33%), supplemented by minor quantities of aluminum and titanium that enhance strength by age hardening. It shows good corrosion resistance, especially in sea water and chemical environments. Mechanically, Monel K500 presents superb tensile strength of about 760 MPa (110 ksi min) and high yield strength, good ductility and toughness. The alloy is nonmagnetic, even in subzero conditions, and has superb oxidation resistance in high temperatures, and it is a very adaptable material for severe operation environments.
