Inconel 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with the addition of niobium, which provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance. The standard composition contains 58% nickel, 20–23% chromium, 8–10% molybdenum, and 3.15–4.15% niobium. It provides a tensile strength of approximately 827 MPa, yield strength of 414 MPa, and excellent ductility with elongation over 30%. This alloy possesses high mechanical properties in a wide temperature range, from cryogenic to 980°C. Its ability to resist pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-stress corrosion cracking in severe services qualifies it for corrosion and high-pressure services.
